Code of Conduct

Introduction: Our Women in Tech Community is dedicated to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and harassment-free experience for everyone. We aim to foster a supportive environment where individuals can collaborate, share knowledge, and grow together.

Scope: This Code of Conduct applies to all community spaces, including in-person events, online forums, social media, and other communication channels. All members, organizers, and volunteers are expected to adhere to these guidelines.

Expected Behavior

  • Respect and Inclusivity: Treat everyone with respect and consideration. Value diverse perspectives and experiences, and be inclusive of all community members.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a professional attitude in all interactions. Be considerate in speech and actions, and actively contribute to a positive environment.
  • No selling: Advertisements or selling of products and services are not welcome in the community unless it’s beneficial, affordable and applicable to most members
  • Collaboration: Be open to collaboration and constructive feedback. Encourage and support each other’s growth and development.
  • Community Support: Offer help and guidance to those who seek it. Share knowledge and resources to uplift the community as a whole.

Unacceptable Behavior

  • Harassment and Discrimination: Harassment, discrimination, or any form of offensive behavior, including but not limited to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, or technology choices, will not be tolerated.
  • Disruptive Conduct: Disruptive actions that interfere with community activities, including aggressive behavior, trolling, or spamming, are prohibited.
  • Inappropriate Communication: Unwelcome sexual attention, threats of violence, or any other form of inappropriate communication is unacceptable.
  • Privacy Violations: Respect the privacy of community members. Do not share personal information without consent.

Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior: Unacceptable behavior from any community member, including sponsors and those with decision-making authority, will not be tolerated. Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. If a community member engages in unacceptable behavior, the organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the community without notice or refund.

Reporting Guidelines Contact: If you are subjected to or witness unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns, please contact the community organizers immediately. Contact information will be provided at each event and available on our community website. Confidentiality: All reports will be handled with discretion and confidentiality. Your privacy and safety are our priority.

Enforcement: Community organizers will enforce this Code of Conduct consistently and fairly. We are committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all members.
